Preparation For An Interval Test
Now is the time for you to demonstrate your proficiency with intervals . Like I mentioned, i’m going to put your skills to the test and see how well you’re doing in the piano course.
So here’s how it goes. I’m going to play different intervals for you from different tones and after I play it I will give you a second or two to think about the name of that interval and then I’m going to pronounce the interval. Make sure you pronounce the answer before me. If you make a mistake don’t worry, just continue with the test until you make three mistakes. If you make three mistakes you stop the video and work a little more for today with the intervals. Also if you are too late with your answer that still counts as one mistake. That means you’re still that quick enough.
Use the sequence from the prevois lesson and just work with it again to fix any lose areas that may still need improvement. Then the next day or two, do the test again until you finish it with less than three mistakes.
If for some reason you can recognize the interval by hearing it, say you already play another instrument and have well trained ear but you don’t play piano, then you can mute the sound of the video, you can still see it visually on the keyboard and the captions will give you the correct answer. Also Don’t worry if after A few tries you start to remember the sequence of the test. You are still making progress.
